News Release: Democrat kathy Angerer Opens Campaign Headquarters

9 June 2004 -- Candidate for the 55th State House District Welcomes Supporters

Temperance -- Kathy Angerer, Democratic candidate for the 55th State House District, today opened her campaign headquarters in Temperance.

The Director of Communications for the Dundee Community Schools, experienced public servant, and mother of five, Angerer welcomed supporters to her campaign office and promised to carry the banner of working families to the state capitol.

“Over the last several months, I have traveled throughout the district meeting citizens dissatisfied with their representation in the Michigan House of Representatives,” Angerer said. “This office will provide a space for us to work together to ensure the type of change that Monroe and Washtenaw County residents deserve.”

Angerer took aim at incumbent Republican Matt Milosch for “siding with Betsy DeVos, that high wages are to blame for our shaky economy, instead of the working families of Michigan.” Angerer said, “The priorities of working families are my priorities too – good paying jobs, affordable health care, and quality education.”

Attendees included residents of Monroe and Washtenaw Counties, elected officials, and the working men and women of the 55th District’s labor organizations. Angerer has already received endorsements from

Angerer and her husband Russ, a decorated Vietnam War veteran, are both lifelong Monroe County residents and are raising their five children in Dundee.
